From your story to your words

Every commission follows the same four simple steps, and you'll know the price before any writing begins.

  1. Tell your story

Share the occasion, the people and a few memories through the commission form.

  2. Talk it through

Jackie follows up with questions, then confirms your quote and delivery date.

  3. Review the draft

You read the first version and ask for any changes you'd like.

  4. Receive your words

Your finished piece arrives ready to read aloud, print or frame.

Questions before you begin

Something else on your mind? Email Jackie.

How far ahead should I get in touch?
As early as you can, especially for weddings. Share your date in the commission form and Jackie will confirm what's possible. Urgent requests, such as a eulogy, are always considered.
How much does a commission cost?
Every piece is different, so Jackie quotes each one after a short conversation about the occasion, length and timing. You'll know the price before any writing begins.
Can I ask for changes?
Yes. You'll see a draft first and can ask for changes until the words feel right.
Will it sound like me or like Jackie?
Like you. Jackie listens for how you speak and what you care about, so the finished piece feels natural in your own voice.
Can Jackie read the piece at my event?
Mention it in your request and Jackie will let you know her availability.

Something in your heart you can't find the words for?

Tell Jackie about the moment and the people in it. She reads every message herself and replies within two days.
